Back in 1990, a small team in Glashütte, Saxony, decided they weren’t going to just sit quietly in the long shadow of German watchmaking history. They built NOMOS Glashütte - a brand that stripped watches down to their purest form, then rebuilt them with a mix of Bauhaus clarity and mechanical independence.
For decades, the brand became shorthand for clean, minimal classics like the Tangente and Ludwig watches that told time with a straight face and nothing more. But NOMOS doesn’t sit still. Slowly, almost stubbornly, it pushed beyond the “nice and neat” aesthetic into sportier territory: watches made for travel, for movement, for people who didn’t just admire design but needed it to work in the chaos of real life.
That evolution brings us here. The Club Sport Neomatik Worldtimer Night Navigation. Three editions, each limited, each one reuse to follow the herd. Independent, vertically integrated, and globally respected, the brand is no longer the newcomer proving itself. It’s the name for setting the pace.
And if you want to know why these releases matter, and what makes them stand out in a market full of noise, let’s get into it.
The Launch of the Night Navigation Worldtimer
NOMOS first hinted at the idea back at Watches & Wonders 2025, but the real launch came on 30 September 2025. The setting was the NOMOS Forum in Glashütte, where the brand officially pulled the cover off the Night Navigation series.
The release is tightly limited - 175 pieces per edition, split across Trace, Grid, and Vector.
Each watch takes its cue from flying at night. Cockpit gauges, city lights, the view from a plane window: those images run through the design. Black galvanised dials form the base, with sharp colour accents turquoise, orange, or olive which is giving each edition its own identity.
These editions aren’t just a colour swap - they’re built around a clear theme that turns cockpit instruments (flight instruments) into something distinctly NOMOS: clean, minimal, and precise.
The NOMOS Worldtimer Night Navigation Trio: Trace, Grid, Vector – Their Look Explained
a) Club Sport Neomatik Worldtimer Trace
The Club Sport Neomatik Worldtimer Trace Ref. 790.S7 sets a sharp contrast with its black galvanised dial and turquoise details across the city ring, small seconds, and 24-hour sub-dial. The hands and hour markers glow vividly in turquoise Super-LumiNova, recalling neon skylines and the cold, electric tones of a city at night.

b) Club Sport Neomatik Worldtimer Grid
The Club Sport Neomatik Worldtimer Grid Ref. 790.S8 shifts the palette toward warmth. Orange, amber, and yellow accents stand out against the black dial, glowing after dark like the scatter of streetlights seen from a plane window. It’s the most energetic of the trio, giving the watch a bold and vibrant presence.

c) Club Sport Neomatik Worldtimer Vector
The Club Sport Neomatik Worldtimer Vector Ref. 790.S9 dials things back with olive green and ecru lume. The cockpit-inspired palette gives it a utilitarian, military edge. More subdued and technical than Trace or Grid, it captures the aviation theme in its most functional form.

Mechanics & Core Features (Shared Across All Three Models)
Case & Dimensions
The Club Sport Neomatik Worldtimer Night Navigation editions sit in a stainless-steel case that balances presence with comfort. At 40mm in diameter, 9.9mm in height, and 48mm lug-to-lug, the proportions keep it slim enough to slip under a cuff but solid enough to feel like a sport-luxury watch. The case itself is made in three parts, topped with a sapphire crystal treated with anti-reflective coating on both sides. A screw-down crown, accented with NOMOS’ red warning ring, completes the package and locks in 100 metres of water resistance, plenty for daily use, even if your “daily use” involves a pool or the sea.

Movement
Inside beats the DUW 3202, one of NOMOS’ most impressive calibres. At just 4.8mm thick, it manages to house a fully integrated world time complication, rather than stacking modules on top. It carries NOMOS’ own swing system with a tempered blue hairspring, runs at 21,600 vibrations per hour, and delivers a 42-hour power reserve. A stop-seconds function makes setting precise, while the rotor engraved with a globe motif in gold which is also visible through the sapphire back. The result is a movement that’s both slim and technically ambitious, yet still distinctly NOMOS in its understated finishing.

World Time Function
The Worldtimer layout is straightforward, designed for clarity. A city ring with 24 IATA airport codes encircles the dial, advanced by a pusher at 2 o’clock that also jumps the local hour hand forward in one-hour steps. At three, a sub-dial displays home time on a 24-hour scale, with light and dark halves marking day and night. Local time reads off the central hands, while a small seconds sub-dial at six keeps balance and adds utility. At a glance, it’s a complication you can actually use on the go, whether you’re travelling for work or simply tracking another city.

Legibility
All three editions are designed for night use, and NOMOS made sure the lume is up to the task. Hour numerals, indices, and hands are coated with Super-LumiNova in each variant’s accent colour — turquoise for Trace, amber for Grid, olive for Vector glowing with intensity in low light and reinforcing the aviation-inspired theme.

Bracelet & Strap Option
Each watch is delivered on a three-link stainless-steel bracelet, alternating brushed and polished surfaces for texture. It secures with a polished folding clasp, and while it doesn’t offer micro-adjustment, the bracelet attaches via quick-change spring bars, making strap swaps fast and tool-free. For those who prefer something lighter, NOMOS also offers an optional woven textile strap in blue-black, sized at 20mm.

For those who prefer something lighter, NOMOS also supplies a woven textile strap in blue-black (20mm). It’s slim, comfortable on the wrist, and gives the watch a sportier, more casual character - a perfect counterpoint to the steel bracelet’s weight and polish.
